
Anthony David Gonzalez, born February 27, 1976, is an ex-American football tight end who played for the National Football League (NFL) for 17 seasons. Gonzalez is believed to be one of the top tight ends in the history of football. He holds the NFL record for receiving yards and receptions as a tight end. Additionally, he ranks third overall in receptions. Gonzalez was chosen in the 1st round of the Kansas City Chiefs. He spent his first 12 season playing for the team. The last five seasons as a player of the Atlanta Falcons. Since his retirement in 2013 Gonzalez was an analyst on football for NFL on Prime Video and was previously with CBS Sports and Fox Sports.Gonzalez ended his career with 14 Pro Bowl selections, the most of a tight-end and second-most in league history as well as receiving six All-Pros from the first team. Gonzalez was famous for his toughness and his ability to not throw a ball. He appeared in 272 of the 272 games in the regular season and only lost two fumbles in 1,327 total touches. In 2019, he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
